Raise your hand if you’ve ever heard the term Minimalism? If you’ve been on the internet lately, or listened to a podcast, or even watched the news – you’ve likely heard of the Minimalist movement. This buzzword seems to be popping up everywhere, but what does it actually mean? Now, if you’re picturing the guy who owns 10 material things and travels around the world boasting freedom from patriarchy – you’re not wrong, but you’re also not right. Minimalism can look like a lot of different things to different people, and it all boils down to what feels right for you. According to the guys at Minimalist Podcast - Minimalism can be defined as -
“a tool to rid yourself of life’s excess in favor of focusing on what’s important—so you can find happiness, fulfillment, and freedom.”
So the first step to practicing Minimalism is to define what brings you personal happiness, fulfillment and freedom. Ask yourself – what of your things actually makes you happy?
